A medium-sized ship that filled the need for an inter-island connection.

It carried passengers and some cargo. Due to the poor conditions of the ports at the time, its size did not allow it to dock at all islands, and, as with the transatlantic ships Lima and Carvalho de Araújo, boarding was done via small boats.
