Carvalho de Araújo
First-floor room with views of the Triangle Islands.
The first in a series of emblematic liners that brought a touch of modernity to travel between the archipelago and mainland Portugal. It was one of the ships that remained in service the longest on this Atlantic route, with a capacity for around 360 passengers, divided into three classes.
Its route always included Madeira Island and served all the islands except Corvo. Due to the absence of a port, boarding in São Jorge and on the other smaller islands was done with the help of a small boat, which transferred cargo and passengers.
